How to Choose a Done-For-You Production Team

How do you choose a done-for-you marketing team?

Choosing a done-for-you marketing team comes down to a few plain questions. Who does the work? What's covered? How do you pay? Who checks it before you see it? And how hard is it to leave?

If you're comparing providers right now, this guide is for you. It gives you the questions I'd ask every one of them, us included. I'll answer each one for DeskTeam360 as we go, so you can hold our answers next to anybody else's.

I've been the buyer here, for a lot of years and a lot of money. I dealt with the same frustrations you may be dealing with now, and they're the reason DeskTeam360 runs on what we call insourcing. If that word is new to you, I explain what insourcing is in its own guide.

What does done-for-you actually mean?

Done-for-you means you hand over the work and get finished work back. You don't get a course. You don't get a coach telling you what to build. You get the thing itself, built.

It helps to sort marketing help into three buckets. Do-it-yourself is tools and training. Done-with-you is coaching, where someone guides you and you still do the building. Done-for-you is production, where a team does the building.

A production team is the people who build the websites, set up the automations, cut the videos, and design the pages.

Here's the part to watch. Done-for-you is not think-for-you. A production team builds what you ask for. It doesn't pick your strategy. On our site we say it this way: we're here to execute, not consult. DeskTeam360 is not a replacement for your marketing strategist, business coach, or ads manager. If strategy is your main problem, a production team won't fix it, ours included.

What we do build is websites, development, automation, AI workflows, video, tech support, and design. You can see the full list of services

Productized, hourly, or per project: which fits you?

There are three common ways to pay for done-for-you work. None of them is wrong. Each one fits a different kind of buyer.

Hourly means you pay for time. It's flexible, and it's fine for small one-off jobs. The trouble is you don't know the bill until the work is done. And slow work costs you more, not less.

Per project means you get a quote for a set scope, like one funnel build. You know the price before work starts. It fits one big build with a clear finish line. The catch is that every new thing needs a new quote.

Productized means a set service at a set price, and a flat monthly rate is one kind. You know the cost every month. It fits you if you have a steady flow of work to hand off. It doesn't fit a single project with nothing behind it.

When I ran my agency, I priced by the project, not by the hour, because clients want to know what they're paying.

That's why DeskTeam360 is one flat monthly rate.

Here are our three plans, so you can compare. Entrepreneur is $1,497 a month for 1 task at a time.

Marketer is $2,994 a month for 2 tasks at a time. Agency is $4,491 a month for 3 tasks at a time. Every plan covers every kind of work we do. The only difference is how many tasks run at once.

First Call Digital Agency is based in Montana. Before us, they spread their work across several vendors, and the delivery times and quality were uneven. Then they moved the work to one team. Here's what they said in their case study. “DeskTeam360 Has Allowed Us To Grow In A More Predictable And Exciting Way!”

And if you want per-project pricing, we're not your fit. I'd rather say that here than on a call.

What questions should you ask any done-for-you team?

Here are eleven questions I'd ask. Under each one is our answer, so you have something to compare against.

Question 1: Who does the work, and will it be the same people next month? If the people change every time, you explain your brand every time.

Our answer: you work with the same developers, designers, and technical Virtual Assistants getting to know you and how you like things done. Every team member comes into our office to work. Every plan includes a North American account manager, a team leader, 2 developers, 2 technical Virtual Assistants, 2 designers, and me on 2 weekly group calls.

Question 2: What's covered, and what isn't? I'd ask for both lists. A team that can't tell you what it won't do will figure it out on your dime.

Our answer: our yes list is above. Here's our no list. You bring your own words. If you help us train AI on your voice, the team can write for you.

Ads are part yes, part no. We set up your ad accounts and build the ads, but we don't manage them. That means we don't monitor your ads or conversions, and we don't make suggestions based on conversions. For that kind of help, you can ask me on the weekly group calls.

We don't reply to comments and DMs or run your online community. We don't do link building or outreach. And we don't do complex 3D rendering or 3D modeling.

Question 3: How do I send work, and who do I talk to?

Our answer: you drop a task into our request form or send an email. You can write it out, record a Loom video, attach a doc, or send a quick voice note. Your North American account manager is your point of contact. You don't deal with the team directly unless you want to.

Question 4: Who checks the work before I see it? If nobody does, you're the quality check.

Our answer: your account manager assigns the task to the right specialist, manages the timeline, and checks the work before you see it.

Question 5: How fast will I get work back?

Our answer: most tasks ship in 1 to 3 business days.

Question 6: What happens when the first version isn't right?

Our answer: revisions are unlimited on every plan. You review the work and ask for changes.

Question 7: What happens when someone is out sick? With one helper, their sick day is your missed deadline.

Our answer: when someone on our team is out sick or on vacation, the team keeps moving. A team leader works in the office with the team and holds them accountable. The office has new computers, three different internet providers, and two backup power sources. Your work gets around-the-clock attention.

Question 8: How many things can be in progress at once?

Our answer: our plans run 1, 2, or 3 tasks at a time. You can line up as many tasks as you want, and the team finishes one and starts the next. Bigger projects get broken into tasks and completed in sequence. If you need a lot of things moving on the same day, look hard at this answer from anyone, ours included.

Question 9: Will the team work in my tools?

Our answer: we plug into your existing tech stack. That covers tools such as WordPress, WooCommerce, Webflow, GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Zapier, and Make.

Question 10: Whose name goes on the work? This one's for agencies.

Our answer: the team works under your brand. Our name doesn't appear on the work, in emails, or in the project system. That's on every plan. And we can work inside your project management system or use ours.

Question 11: How do I leave, and what can I check before I start? I'd find the exit before I signed anything.

Our answer: no contracts. It's month to month and you can cancel any time. There's a 30-day money-back guarantee. That's a full refund within the first 30 days, with no conditions. For proof, you can read our client case studies Over 400 businesses served since 2018. $2.5 million processed, zero chargebacks. On Trustpilot we have 4.4 stars from 11 reviews.

What are the red flags?

These are the ones I'd walk away from.

  • You can't find out who does the work.
  • There's a list of what they do, and no list of what they don't.
  • The person who sold you disappears once you've paid.
  • They want a long contract before you've seen one finished task.
  • Nobody checks the work before it reaches you.
  • You can't tell what next month's bill will be.
  • Every answer is yes. A real team has things it won't do.
  • The whole thing rests on one person.

None of these mean the people are bad. They mean you're about to become the manager. And if you wanted to manage production, you wouldn't be shopping for done-for-you.

A red flag can be about fit, too. If the only thing you need is design, a full production team is more than you need.

DeskTeam360 is not a design company. And if you have one project and nothing after it, a flat monthly rate isn't the way to buy it.

What should you expect when you start with a team?

Starting with any new team feels a little slow at first. It's like when you hire anybody new. They don't know your clients yet, and you don't know how much detail they need. That's normal, and it passes as the same people do more of your work.

Here's what I'd watch for early on.

  • Your first tasks come back close to what you pictured.
  • The expectations get set up front, and then they get met.
  • One named person answers you.
  • You always have a list of what to send next.

Michael Quinn is the founder of My Site Ranked and an SEO expert in North Dakota. In his case study, he said DeskTeam360 set the expectations up front and then met them.

The last one on that list matters most. A flat monthly rate only pays off when there's work in the queue. So I'd keep a running list from day one. Every time you think, "I'll get to that later," it goes on the list.

Handing off work is a skill, and it gets easier. Learning to hand off work well even changed how I talk with my wife and kids.

If you want to see it step by step, our How It Works page shows how a task moves through our team

What is a done-for-you production team?

It's a team that does the building for you. You hand over the work, like a website, an automation, or a video edit, and you get finished work back. It doesn't set your strategy.

Is a flat monthly rate better than paying by the hour or by the project?

It depends on your work. A flat monthly rate fits a steady flow of tasks. Per-project pricing fits one big build. Hourly fits small one-off jobs.

Does DeskTeam360 only do design?

No. DeskTeam360 is not a design company. The team does websites, development, automation, AI workflows, video, tech support, and design.

How much does DeskTeam360 cost?

Entrepreneur is $1,497 a month for 1 task at a time. Marketer is $2,994 a month for 2 tasks at a time. Agency is $4,491 a month for 3 tasks at a time.

Is there a contract?

No. There are no contracts. It's month to month and you can cancel any time. There's a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Where does DeskTeam360 work with clients?

The service is online. We serve any US state, plus Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

The best done-for-you team is the one you stop thinking about. You send the work, it comes back right, and you get on with the part of the business only you can do. So ask the questions. The right team won't mind.
